Ricky is known for his versatility within his choreographic work - being able to create material from live theatre and immersive shows to music videos, television performances, live tours and fashion. Prioritising the love that is in the project and the magic of the process, Ricky is adaptable to all sectors of the industry. As well as choreography, Ricky works with creatives/music artists who require movement direction to feel more comfortable and authentic on stage and set - connecting to the body in new ways. He has choreographed and/or directed movement for music artists such as Rita Ora, Matthew Morrison, Pixie Lott, Digital Farm Animals, Denis Coleman, Oti Mabuse, AJ Pritchard and Lois Rae Smith and has choreographed for many companies including Adidas, Good Morning America, Stella McCartney, UEFA Champions League Final, Kiss FM and Adlib Moda Fashion Show Ibiza. He choreographed Iain Woods' 'Populism' show at Tate Britain as part of Tate Late's (Mark Leckey's exhibition). Ricky creates short pieces and full-length shows on dance companies and academies. His awards include Group Choreographer of the Year at the 2019 UK Dance Awards for his work on BBC's 'The Greatest Dancer', he was a finalist at the 2018 Capezio Ace Awards in New York and was recently nominated for Performance of the Year 2022 for his Company Jinks work. Ricky is a highly sought-after teacher on the international dance-circuit and has been teaching all over the globe for a decade, believing that the influence we have as teachers is more important and impactful than most think - a path that requires mindfulness and compassion. More than just teaching steps, Ricky feels grateful in sharing this art form with different cultures and allowing students to connect to a deeper understanding of themselves and their mind/body/spirit connection. Bringing more than just choreography in to the space, Ricky caters to each job specifically - adding meditation, energy work, technique, yoga, improvisation, camera/stage work and many other relatable practices.
